Introduction
PAEVOR Institute CLG is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain. This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity.
Our Organization
PAEVOR Institute CLG is a non-profit organization registered in Ireland, focused on AI governance research, capacity building, and policy advocacy for emerging markets, with a primary focus on Africa.
Our Policies
We have implemented the following policies to support our commitment:
- Code of Conduct: Sets out expected standards of behavior for all staff and partners
- Procurement Policy: Requires due diligence on suppliers and contractors
- Whistleblowing Policy: Enables reporting of concerns without fear of retaliation
- Recruitment Policy: Ensures fair and ethical hiring practices
Due Diligence
We conduct due diligence on our supply chain through:
- Vetting new suppliers and partners
- Reviewing contracts to include anti-slavery provisions
- Monitoring ongoing relationships for compliance
- Prioritizing local suppliers where possible
Risk Assessment
Given our nature as a research and capacity-building organization, our supply chain risks are relatively low. However, we remain vigilant in areas such as:
- Event catering and hospitality services
- IT equipment and office supplies
- Travel and accommodation providers
- Contractors and consultants
Training
We provide training to relevant staff on modern slavery awareness and our policies. This includes staff involved in procurement, HR, and partner management.
Effectiveness
We measure the effectiveness of our approach through:
- Regular policy reviews
- Supplier assessments
- Monitoring of whistleblowing reports
- Annual statement review and update
Future Steps
We are committed to continuous improvement and will:
- Enhance supplier due diligence procedures
- Expand training programs
- Review and strengthen policies annually
